Possible Issues with Export from Act! to CSV

Excel shows unexpected characters from exported CSV file

If Excel does not display properly special characters like German Umlaute (ä ö ü) or capitalized chars (é à …) first of all we recommend using the latest version of our Data Suite. While exporting choose Unicode (UTF-8) for encoding:

After this please ensure you use Unicode (UTF-8) as the encoding to import the csv file into Excel as showing below:

If another tool like a text editor shows the wrong characters you should setup this editor to open files as Unicode (UTF-8). See the tools documentation for doing this.

Exported data is broken in Histories and Notes

In export of child entities choose proper RTF coverting settings:

The text may be broken due to incorrect settings defined while exporting data.
