How to reallocate ACT! Index files from the C: Drive
When you host ACT! and your Server is set up with a small C: main partition or a small C: drive only for the Operating System. Your ACT! database itself is not deployed on c: drive, it is located on another partition or on another drive.
Another common scenario to reallocate ACT! index files is to change or upgrade to a faster drive.
Deploying ACT! database on an SSD drive will improve ACT! performance. It is recommended to transfer the ACT! index files to the SSD as well to profit from the increased IOPS your SSD can deliver compared to a normal Harddisk.
Please be advised that this will not work identically for all ACT! versions, so you’d need to choose the right article for YOUR ACT! Version.
