Can Modems be used (löschen?)

the right response to the question can Modems be used with dial|it is a „it depends“

• most modems had own drivers for windows2000, at that point the clear response was yes it will
• for XP most modems, did not provide own drivers, and using the microsoft driver limited the tapi funktion to outbound only. 
• for windows7, the only modem family that works with inbound Caller-ID, is the way2call modems
• for windows8 the only modem family that works with inbound Caller-ID, is the way2call modems

you can use Phone.exe to identify if your modem/driver is supporting caller-id, and if so, dial-it is supporting it to.
