In order to display a table from TABLE|IT in Act! a few preparatory steps are necessary.
First you need a tab where the table can be displayed.
Open the Layout Designer for the desired entity (contact, group, company, opportunity) in Act! to create a tab.
The possibility to display your table depends on the type of table, meaning the entity that was allocated to the table. This allocation cannot be undone afterwards.
In the Layout Designer, please choose Edit > Tabs.
In the next step you choose Add tab.
Pick a name for this tab (1) and confirm this with OK (2).
The tab was added. Please go on Close now.
At first you need to check if the menu point Custom is already in the tool box of the layout designer in Act!. If that is not the case, please proceed as follows: In the free area of the tool box you make a right click and when the pop up menu Customise appears please click on that.
In the window Customise tool box you tick CRMADDON_CustomTable_Tab and confirm it with OK.
Now the point Custom appears in your tool box.
In order to display the table under your new tab please go to the tab in the layout designer that was created for this table. Next, you click on Custom in the tool box on the left side.
Please go on CRMADDON_CustomTable_Tab in the tool box bar and keep the left mouse button pressed. Move the mouse to the tab field and release the mouse button there. You will now see the CRMADDON logo as the content of your tab.
With a double click on the logo symbol a settings dialog appears.
Choose the desired table (1) and decide which users (2) the table should be available for. In the end you go on Save (3).
Please remember that when new Act! uses are created and they should also get access to a table this has to be adjusted here.
Save your layout and then close the layout designer. The table will be displayed under your newly created tab.
The new table is empty at first. You can enter data by right clicking in the table and then choosing Data > Add or by using the TABLE|IT tool bar and clicking on Data > Add in there.
