To select a TAPI device, go to the input window. A dropdown list of your already configured TAPI connections appears. For the TAPI provider set Standard if you don't find your provider in the list.
To use DIAL|IT you need a TAPI connection, otherwise you can use the software only with Skype. You have to set up the TAPI connection in advance. The best way to do this is to contact the provider of your telephone system. You can find more information in our knowledgebase. |
You also have the option to specify a number as a prefix for outgoing calls and a prefix for international calls. In addition, you can remove certain numbers for incoming calls or prefix certain numbers to incoming calls. There is also an option to enter an area code. Then select the maximum number of attempts to retrieve the incoming number.
In the lower section General Settings you specify if you use a headset. You can create a Tapi Trace which is used for error analysis in case of unwanted behavior in connection with your TAPI device.
There are different options for the TAPI setting. When you answer a call, you are typically listed under Called. Caller ID or Caller ID contains information about the person who called you. Connected ID lists the person you are connected to on the phone. This can be a different person than the one who called you in some cases, for example if someone transfers a call to you. The person who transfers the call is then the caller and the person you end up talking to is visible under Connected. Likewise, there is the person who forwards the call (Redirecting) and the person to whom the call is forwarded (Forwarding-Redirection). Please select the person you want to be displayed when DIAL|IT calls you. The default setting is the default setting of your TAPI device, so what it typically displays. For example you can select Forward Redirection or Connected ID if you don't want the person who forwarded an incoming call to be displayed.
