Run tasks and events log

Themen Prev Top Next More

The great thing about the tasks in SERVICE|IT is that they are performed automatically and without manual commands as a windows service in the background. As soon as you have created a task it will be performed at your chosen time.

Please make sure that your computer is turned on! If it is turned off no tasks will be performed.

You might have to install the windows service first. This is necessary when you aren't logged in with your administrator account. First you click on Install (4) and a window will open that asks you to enter your user name and password. After typing that in you click on OK. You can use the windows service now.

Under Configuration (1) you can manually stop (3) or start (2) the SERVICE|IT windows service. That way you influence all of the tasks.

run task 3

A dialog appears when you click on Start or Stop:

run task 4

In the case that the service is not running the following dialog will appear every time you click on Tasks in the navigation bar:

run task 5

When you click on Start the service the Windows service will start again. Then you click on OK. You can also click on OK without starting the service.

Once a task was performed you can check in the Events log if everything worked correctly.

run task 6 new

In order to always see the most recent events, click on the run task 7 symbol in the lower bar.

First you click on the desired task.

You see a column with Task start. This is the time the task was performed.

The Task name and the Action type of the task are displayed as well.

In the case that there is a tick in the column E-mail sent you receive a notification about the course of the task.

A tick in the column Success means that the task was performed successfully. If the tick isn't there check the settings of the particular task and try it again. When the task still could not be performed please contact our support team.

In the lower part you see the three tabs Details, Log, E-mail log.

Here you can find out more about the course of the task.
